Jeep or Quad Tour on Kos: Which One Is Worth It?
Updated October 20, 2026 · 5 min read
Off-road tours are among the priciest things visitors book on Kos, and they are not all the same trip. The first decision is whether you want to drive. The second is whether you want a few hours or most of a day. One tour lets you pick between a jeep and a quad when you book, which makes it the natural starting point.
Six tours compared
| Tour | Price per person | Rating | Reviews | Length |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Guided Jeep or Quad Off-Road Tour with Drinks and Lunch | €85 | 4.8 | 530 | 5 hours |
| Full-Day Jeep Safari with Lunch | €115 | 4.6 | 288 | 5.5 hours |
| 4x4 Sunset Safari Tour | €95 | 4.7 | 43 | 4 hours |
| 4x4 Safari with Panoramic Views, Villages & Flavors | €115 | 4.7 | 33 | 6 hours |
| Half-Day Driving Adventure by Quad | €85 | 4.7 | 14 | 4 hours |
| Guided 4x4 Off-Road Tour to Kefalos & Tavern Lunch | €135 | 4.5 | 16 | 7.5 hours |
Only the first two have a few hundred reviews. The other four have between 14 and 43, so their ratings say little yet. The prices are per person, as GetYourGuide shows them.
Drive, or be driven?
This is the real question, and it changes the price and who can come.
Driving a quad. The half-day quad tour describes coastal paths with sea views and rugged off-road trails. It has the same €85 price as the jeep-or-quad tour but only 14 reviews. The licence rules and any age limit are on the booking page. Read them before you pay.
Driving a jeep. The most-reviewed tour lets you choose a jeep 4x4 or a quad. The description adds that you can “pick the Jeep passenger option to join the fun without needing a license”, which tells you a driver’s licence is needed if you want to drive.
Riding along. If only one person in the party wants to drive, or nobody does, the passenger option, or a safari with a driver, is the answer. The 4x4 safaris at €95 and €115 are described through their views, villages and chapels; the descriptions do not say clearly who is at the wheel (one says “drive rugged mountain routes”), so check that on the booking page.
What you will actually see
The descriptions name only a handful of places:
- Villages, secluded chapels and Turtle Lake on the semi-private safari at €115.
- Rugged landscapes, serene lakes and village life on the full-day jeep safari.
- Mountain views and a sunset with a dinner stop on the €95 evening safari.
- Kefalos and a tavern lunch on the longest, at €135.
Those are the only places the listings name. For the actual route, the stops and the time at each, the booking page is the source.
The details to check
- Length against the name. The “Full-Day Jeep Safari” is listed at 5.5 hours, which is shorter than the 6-hour and 7.5-hour tours. The name alone tells you little. Compare the hours.
- Lunch and drinks. The first tour names drinks and lunch in its title, and the full-day jeep safari names lunch. The sunset safari mentions a “scenic dinner stop”. Confirm what is inside the price.
- Dust and heat. Dry off-road tracks in summer are dusty and the days are hot. Bring sunglasses, water and sun protection; the listings do not go into detail.
- Group size. The listing for the semi-private safari says “semi-private”. The others do not give a size. Ask if it matters to you.
Which one to pick
- For most people: the guided jeep-or-quad tour at €85. It has the best rating of the six, 4.8, from far more reviews than any alternative, and lets you choose how much you drive.
- For a longer day with lunch: the full-day jeep safari at €115, or the 6-hour 4x4 safari with villages and lunch.
- For the evening: the 4x4 sunset safari at €95. If you only want the view, the Zia sunset options cost €25 to €30 and need no off-road ride.
- For beginners who want to drive: read the licence and age rules for the quad before booking. Sometimes a passenger seat is the better choice.
